Cardinal Leo Calls on Young Priests to Conform their Hearts to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

On Friday, June 12 – the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo met with priests who have been ordained for five years or less as part of the ongoing formation program for Archdiocesan clergy. Providentially, it also marks the Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests.

His Eminence encouraged the young priests to conform their hearts to the Sacred Heart of our Beloved Saviour through deep prayer, reverent celebration of the Eucharist, regular confession and spiritual direction. As a good spiritual father with his spiritual sons’ well-being at heart, he also gave timeless advice as to how to avoid any situation or attitude that would compromise the great gift of the sacred Priesthood entrusted by God through our Mother the Church.

We thank His Eminence for reflecting the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, and ask parishioners to pray for all priests – that they, too, may continue to grow in the image and likeness of the Lord.
